1972 Rickenbacker 4001 in its original Fireglo finish with checkerboard binding. It has a great playing neck with some worn but good frets and crushed pearl inlay. It's all original with the exception of a later treble/bridge position pickup, one pot and the pad for the mute. A later Rickenbacker silver "Vintage" hardshell case is included. This 4001 looks great with some minor nicks + dings and other cosmetic wear. In the cavity underneath the treble pickup there are 4 small holes drilled into the body of which one passed through the back of the body. The bass itself remains structurally sound with no cracks, breaks or repairs. All electronics work and sound great with its original "Toaster" pickup in the bass/neck position which provides an authentic '70s 4001 bass tone.
