1940's Gibson ES-150 Sunburst
1940's Gibson ES-140 in its original Sunburst finish. It has a great playing neck with very worn, but good frets. It's all original with the exception of the added strap button on the back of the headstock and the screws for the tailpiece. The original hardshell case is included, but has a lot of damage including broken hinges. The pickguard has partially deteriorated and has separated from the support bracket. The treble side of the headstock has two small nails driven into the wood. Either something was mounted there or they were driven in to add extra support on that wing as there is just the slightest seam separation visible along the front and underside of the headsock. This guitar looks great with nicks + dings, finish checking, very slight binding shrinkage in some areas and other cosmetic wear. Some of the finish is worn off, especially on the back of the neck. The top portion of the part that anchors the trapeze tailpiece had broken and the remaining portion was bent around the tailpiece and remains very secure. The guitar itself remains structurally sound. All electronics work and sound great. We obtained this ES-150 from the daughter of the original owner and have included photos that she emailed to us featuring her Father with the guitar.
