1964 Fender Stratocaster in Candy Apple Red with "R&R CAR" stamped on the body underneath the pickguard. The "R&R" is typically believed to indicate a Fender factory refinish which in this case would have been done in the mid-1960's as it is a nitro finish. It has a good playing neck with good frets. All parts on the guitar are original, but a couple of extra mod wires were removed and the middle + bridge position pickups have been repaired (not rewound) and new tape has been wrapped around the cloth pickup wires. All three pickups sound great with good readings: NECK-5.82/MIDDLE-6.63/BRIDGE-5.37. A later vintage non-original Fender hardshell case is included, but the tremolo arm and plastic back cover is missing. There are nicks + dings, some finish checking on the body and other cosmetic wear included the finish worn off the back of the neck giving a nice smooth feel. The back of the headstock appears to have been oversprayed a long time ago. The guitar itself remains structurally sound with no cracks, breaks or repairs. All electronics work and sound great. The weight is 7 lbs. 9.2 oz.
